Teenagers today are thirsty for love, acceptance, and lives that have meaning and purpose. God's Word tells us that the only way this thirst can be quenched is through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. It is our desire to see students experience the love of Jesus, and help them walk in all His ways. Our ministry is designed to encourage, challenge, and equip students to make a difference in their world. Whether it's our Sunday morning Bible fellowship class, our Sunday night "students only" worship service or our Wednesday night Bible study our goal is to meet students where they are, and help them move towards God's plan for their life.
Student Ministry Weekly Schedule
- Bible Fellowship-meets on Sunday mornings at 9:45 and is where students are encouraged and challenged by God's word. Bible Fellowship is all about filling your life with the truth that will propel you towards Christ.
- "Students Only" Worship Service-this takes place on Sunday evening beginning at 5:30 in our gym. This is a time where our youth praise band leads the students in worship, followed by a message from God's Word by our student minister that leads to life transformation. We wrap up our time together with a meal provided by the church designed to promote unity and fellowship with our students.
- Wednesday Night Bible Study-meets on Wednesday night beginning at 7pm and is a time of searching deep into God's truth. We allow discussion and questions after the teaching time, and our student leaders make themselves available to discuss with our students any issues going on in their lives at that time.
In order to maintain an environment conducive to learning, Christian fellowship, and that provides the opportunities for growth and maturity in student's relationships with Jesus Christ, the following Rules of Conduct are required of all students participating in the New Hope Baptist Student Ministries and its activities:
-
The use of cellular phones and all cellular and electronic devices (computers, PDAs, iPods, etc.) for any purpose (text messaging, conversation, etc.) during classes and group activities is prohibited.
While New Hope Baptist Church understands that emergencies do occur, the students are encouraged to explain to parents and caregivers that you will not be able to use your cellular phone during worship and class time, and thus arrangements for picking up, going out, etc. should be made prior to arriving to church.
At any time, all parents and caregivers are not only welcome to come to our church to participate in our student ministry; they are also encouraged to do so.
In the case of emergency, parents and caregivers are to contact the church at (864) 963-3547. - The use of tobacco (in all its forms), alcohol, illicit drugs, or any other form of controlled substance on church grounds or during any church activities is expressly forbidden.
- No weapons of any kind (knives, guns, etc.) are not permitted on church grounds.
- The students are encouraged to stay inside the building, unless an activity is taking place outside. For the safety of children and others, there is no loitering (hanging out) in the parking lot.
- Any and all disruptive, disrespectful, and disobedient behavior will not be tolerated. Students are expected to treat the student leaders, staff, teachers, and their fellow students with respect. Students are to defer to the authority of the student leaders, staff, and teachers in all situations.
Students who fail to abide by these rules will be removed from the class or activity by one of the student leaders. The decision will then be made to either:
- Notify the parents or caregivers to come and pick up the student if they did not drive themselves.
- If the student is driving, the parents or caregivers will be notified the student is being dismissed from church for the day.
- Take the student to another room for individual counseling along with another student leader.
If a student fails to comply with these rules, the student is forfeiting their right to participate in the group activity, and the student may be asked to leave church grounds for the remainder of the activity.
This does not mean that a student is not welcome to continue coming to or participating in New Hope student ministry activities, but rather that the student has forfeited his or her right to participate in the specific activity for that day.
In the case of an ongoing, persistent, willful failure to comply with these rules, members of New Hope Baptist will carry out church discipline in the situation in accordance with the standards set forth in Scripture.
